Vintage Barbie Cases
Of course you're going to need a Vintage Barbie Case to lug your vintage Barbies around town. Not only do the cases come in handy for storing dolls and clothes, but vintage Barbie cases are usually collectible in their own right too. My personal favorites are the mod era cases and anything in black vinyl. You'll find Barbie cases featuring Barbie and cases featuring her friends, such as Francie and, Barbie's best beau, Ken.
It has been often said that anyone who collects vintage Barbie usually gets caught up in collecting the unique vintage Barbie Cases as well. Of course finding the vintage doll inside a case is a tremendous find for Barbie collectors! Maybe you'll get lucky with some of these Ebay listings. In any case, you will find some very interesting vintage Barbie cases on Ebay and they are often available as an excellent bargain.

Just as there is are a tremendous amount of Barbie fashions to choose from, there is also a fairly large variety of Barbie cases available. The value for each of the cases depends on the availability or rareness of that particular item and the condition it is in. Some cases are much easier to locate and these generally do not cost as much to buy as cases that are more difficult to find, perhaps due to less being originally produced, or the actual age of the item itself.
Some cases were manufactured from stiff cardboard, others were a more expensive vinyl case which doubled as a carry case for Barbie dolls as well as a place to store all of the Barbie clothing and accessories. They came in a variety of shapes and sizes, with most having a compartment for a doll, hangers and a space to hang up clothing, and a drawer for the Barbie accessories. Some of the earliest cases produced date back to 1961. The inside of the vintage Barbie cases were often lined with material.
Double cases were also quite popular in the early 1960s. These are cases that hold up to two dolls, and were great for carrying Barbie and Ken or Barbie and her friends around.
Prices for these range greatly, and again as with all other vintage Barbies and accessories, is dependent on the state of the case and it's handles, the inside lining, and whether or not there are any markings or scuffs or damage on the outside. Sometimes you can buy the vintage case complete with Barbie and accessories. These hard to find items end up being quite costly, but are a great find when you can get them.
